"You look mahvalous dahling! Simply mahvalous!"
Back when IG handles had to be cute and clever, "Simply Mahvalous" wasn't just a saying in my household growing up, it was a term of endearment, stamp of approval and the ultimate compliment. Coming down the stairs, proudly showing off a look I had meticulously styled to my parents and my dad saying, (in his best aristocratic dialect) "You look mahvalous dahling! Simply mahvalous!" And that's the high I would chase for the rest of my life!
Growing up with a sister and several girl cousins meant I had plenty of practice honing my dress-up skills. Dance costumes, prom dresses, floppy hats and Granny's wigs, no article of clothing or accessory was safe! I drooled over fashion magazines and my mother's vintage patterns and started sewing my own clothes at the age of 9. I won several competitions and awards for my creations and decided it wasn't a phase. I went on to receive my Bachelors Degree in Apparel Design, Merchandising. and Production.
I've spent almost 20 wonderful years in the fashion industry designing professionally for some of the biggest brands in the world like Under Armour, Champion, Columbia, Disney and the Dallas Cowboys to name a few. Being a designer has allowed me to be creative in more ways than I could have imagined possible. Fashion has always been my profession, but inspiring confidence through style is my true passion.
